Forecast for Thursday: a soft front of nostalgia moving in from the east.
Project notes
Overview
A self-initiated series exploring weather as emotion. Every piece is cut by hand from layered coloured stock and lit from the side to cast real shadows.
Challenge
Translating something formless — weather — into a material with hard edges.
Approach
We wrote fictional forecasts first, then cut. Each layer of paper is a layer of the forecast: pressure, temperature, mood.
Process
Over four hundred hours of cutting, scanning and re-cutting. Nothing digital in the making, only in the documenting.
Outcome
Twelve original works and a printed folio.
